Cased Colt 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver Attributed to Confederate Sergeant William Adair of Co. D 30th Battalion.

Serial no. 177425 [barrel, frame, triggerguard and butt], .31 caliber, 5-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Brass gripstraps. Manufactured in 1860. Contained in wooden partitioned fitted case with maroon felt lining, percussion caps, bullet mold and powder flask. According to the consignor, this lot came out of the Gettysburg area. When bought, he was told this revolver was carried by Confederate Sergeant William Adair, Co. D 30th Battalion, included was also a Certificate of Eligibility for Cross of Honor, the Application to United Daughters of Confederacy, filled out for William Adair / Co. D Clark's Battalion Reg't / 30th Regt. Vols C.S.A / Filed 1907. Also included is current printed information about Perkin's Battalion Missouri Infantry CSA.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear, age and pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to grip. Triggerguard bent, gun is a bit lose. Action good. Moderately pitted bore. Moderate storage wear present to display case and accessories, accessories not original to the gun.
