Description

Rare Pre-Production Civilian or Presentation Japanese Type 26 Engraved Revolver.

Serial no. 619 [under grips], 4 3/4-inch barrel, 9mm [9x22mmR Type 26]. Engraved and finely blued finish to it overall. Checkered two-piece grips, no lanyard ring present.
Note: The Type 26 revolvers were one of Japan's first attempts at modernizing their weapons, beginning with production in 1893. Besides the engraving, this revolver has features not found on the standard military issue pieces. Notably the front sight and the grips being held to the gun with a screw rather than being held to the frame by the folding sideplate.

Condition: Fine as presented. Retains most bluing overall with light wear and thinning around barrel. Some finish loss to cylinder turning brown. Grips very good with strong checkering. Mechanically sound. Bore good.
