Description
U.S. Remington 1863 Percussion Rifle.Unserialized, .58 caliber, 32-inch barrel with bayonet lug, fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Top of barrel date: 1863. Lock marked: 1863, (eagle) / U.S. and REMINGTON'S / ILION N.Y. Smooth walnut straight stock with two barrel bands each stamped: U. Sling swivels. Metal ramrod. Brass triggerguard, hinged patchbox and buttplate.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with noticeable areas of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered dings and scuffs present to wood. Action crisp. Action good. Pitted bore.
