Description

Civil War Union Infantry Hardee Hat.

A Pattern 1858 army hat, also known as a Hardee hat, trimmed to denote an infantryman. On the front, a stamped brass infantry bugle, number 3 and F. The 3- inch wide brim retains its two rows of stitching reinforcement. Original worsted sky-blue hat cords, now faded are set at the base of the 6-inch tall crown. A small black ostrich plume has been fixed to the side. The leather sweatband is not present.

Condition: Some light to moderate spots of staining/fading otherwise the felt remains in very good condition. No sweatband as noted.
