U.S. L. Pomeroy Model 1816 Percussion Musket.

Unserialized, .69 caliber, 39-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Blued finish. Lock marked: 1828 / US and (eagle) / L. POMEROY. Smooth hardwood straight stock with sling swivel and three barrel bands. Metal triggerguard, ramrod and U.S. stamped buttplate. "L. Pomeroy" refers to Lemuel Pomeroy (sometimes "L. Pomeroy & Co.") of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Pomeroy was a private contractor who manufactured U.S. military arms, including muskets, under contract to the federal government and to various states.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered handling wear and patches of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood, along with cracks around action and at butt. Action functions. Pitted bore.
