Description

Civil War-Era English Made Field Amputation Kit.

Housed in a hard-wood case measuring approximately 15 3/4 x 7 1/2 x 2-inches fitted with brass catches and eyelets. The case is lined in red velvet and has fitted compartments for the amputation saw, bone saw, Liston knives, bone nipper, hook and tourniquet. The knives are each marked "Ryley, London".

Condition: Very good. Light wear to case with some separation of the veneer top at the rear edge. Tools with light scattered surface rust; a few cracks in the checkered wooden handles.
