Cased Colt Model 1878 Frontier Double Action Revolver.

Serial no. 12170, .45 caliber, 5 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer and trigger. Checkered factory grip panels. Lanyard ring. Manufactured in 1883. Sold along with reduced size facsimile of a Colt factory letter, two Texas Ranger badges and a box of (12) .45 caliber revolver ball cartridges. All contained in custom wooden display case.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scuffs, scratches and checker thinning present to grips. Action good. Lightly pitted bore. Minor storage wear to display case.
