Victorian-Era British Pattern 1856 Pioneer Sword Complete With Buff Leather Hanger.

22 1/2-inch bright, un-fullered blade with a 14 1/2-inch sawback section along the top edge. The reverse ricasso is maker marked "WILKINSON LONDON" with miscellaneous proof marks on either side of the blade near the hilt. Brass hilt with stirrup guard. Top of quillon marked "9/1895 / V / 2. SK / 6". Black leather scabbard with brass tip. Brass frog stud with regimental markings. Complete with 3-inch wide buff leather hanger which bears the brass belt plate of the 74th (Highland) Regiment of Foot.

Condition: Very good. Areas of shallow pitting on the blade; leather frog is cracked just above the brass tip. Blade doesn't seat in scabbard completely.
