U.S. Springfield Model 1870 Allin Conversion Trapdoor Rifle.

NVSN, .52 caliber, 32 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear ladder sight. 1410 stamped to left side of barrel. Lock marked: 1863, (eagle) AND U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth walnut straight stock with two barrel bands, each stamped with a U. Sling swivels. Metal ramrod. U.S. stamped carbine buttplate.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a bright patina with noticeable areas of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Scattered dings and bruising present to wood. Four large scuffs to base of forearm. Action good. Strong bore.
