Kentucky Percussion Short Rifle.
Unserialized, approximately .40 caliber, 36-inch octagonal barrel with dovetailed German silver blade front and notched rear sights. Bolster-converted lock plate with game scene engraving. Backplate crudely engraved: ST????UG/ [dog's head] / 1894. Double-set triggers. Tiger maple-style stock with brass furniture and patchbox. 6-pointed star at top of wrist. Cheekrest with starburst German silver inlay engraved with dog's head. 27 1/2-inch hardwood ram rod in three brass tubes. Brass muzzle cap.

Condition: Fine as configured. Barrel with a smooth, dark brown age patina and scattered dents. Stock has been refinished with stripes added. Brass with mellow age patina. Action functions, set trigger does not.
