Description

Air Force HGK-13 Full-Pressure Helmet as Used in the X-15. Manufactured by David Clark Company for use with the A/P22S-2 pressure suit. There are two labels at the inside neck area. One indicates that this helmet was cured in the third quarter of 1962. The other label bears the following information: "8475-086-7437/ Helmet, Flying, High Altitude, HGK-13/P22S-2/ David Clark Co. Inc. P/N ACS-88OL, Contract No. AF36(600)-10599/ Date of Mfgr. - Oct., 1962, U.S." The helmet has an oxygen hose and communications lead entering on the rear. There is a visor with control on the right and a visor, controlled on the left with a "U S A F" decal at top front. A very scarce and desirable helmet. About fine condition with some paint scrapes and signs of wear.
