Description

John F. Kennedy: Honey Fitz Sheet Music Owned by JFK. JFK's maternal grandfather, John F. "Honey Fitz" Fitzgerald, was a Boston politician and candidate for mayor in 1909. This piece of sheet music was published for that effort. It was owned by JFK, as attested to by the accompanying letter from JFK's personal secretary, Evelyn Lincoln. She writes the sheet music "... was in a desk drawer of John F. Kennedy during the time he was United States Senator. When Kennedy moved to the Oval Office of the White House as President this sheet music was discarded." The sheet music became the property of Robert L. White and was subsequently sold at Guernsey's. It lacks pages 3 and 4 and has some separations at the folds. A letter of provenance from the family accompanies the lot.
