Description

Fine Single Action Colt Army Revolver, Shipped to Famed El Paso Merchants Ketelson and Degetau in 1888, the Wood Grips with Nine Notches. Colt factory letter describes this .44/50 caliber revolver with 7½" barrel, part of a shipment of twenty-seven guns to the El Paso retailer on August 16, 1888. The El Paso Business Directory of that year lists the general merchandisers and includes a large ad for the firm. The store was looted and burned by Pancho Villa in a 1911 raid.

This Texas gun is in very nice condition, with crisp, tight action and excellent bore. Retains approximately 30% of the original blue finish, with the remainder having pleasing gray to brown patina. Walnut grips, one of which has been carved with two notches, the other with seven.
