Description
William Z. Foster: Classic Teapot Dome Button. This 7/8" lithograph tin button by Greenduck of Chicago was issued to support the Workers' Party candidates, William Z. Foster and Benjamin Gitlow. They shortly thereafter changed their name to the Communist Party of the U.S.A. The hammer and sickle on this button is symbolic of their political viewpoint. Like the Democrats, the Communists tried to use the Teapot Dome scandal against Coolidge, even though he had nothing to do with it. Like the Democrats, the strategy failed, but they made some great buttons! This one is in mint condition and as nice as they come!Auction Info
