Description

George Washington: Dorchester Eulogies and Washingtoniana. This lot has two books. One book contains two Washington eulogies delivered in Dorchester in 1800 along with Washington's address declining to be a candidate for re-election in 1796 (bound in calf-skin, front cover detached). The other is "Washingtoniana" by Samuel Sower, published at Baltimore in 1800. It consists of 298 pages of biographical information, tributes to Washington and his last will and testament. The frontispiece is a stipple engraving after the portrait by Savage. The front cover is detached and there is wear to the spine and edges. The contents seem complete and are well-preserved.
