Barack Obama: Early Literary Efforts. President Obama attended Occidental College in Los Angeles from 1979 to 1981 before transferring to Columbia. The Department of English at Occidental published a 51-page booklet in the Spring of 1981 containing a variety of poems, essays and short stories that had been submitted for consideration. Eleven students had their entries accepted for the "Poetry" section of "Feast". Pages 11 and 12 contain two poems by Obama, titled "Pop" and "Underground". The booklet, measuring 5.75" x 8.5", was printed in very limited numbers. We have been unable to locate any auction records for this particular issue. It is in excellent condition.Auction Info
