Description

Franklin D. Roosevelt: Personal Stationery Rack. This desk accessory once belonged to FDR. It is a rack for writing paper and related supplies. It is made of wood, painted black, and measures 8.75" wide x 7.5" x 4.25" deep. There are five compartments. It was part of the sale of items from the "Collection of President & Mrs. Franklin Delano Roosevelt" sold at Hammer Galleries in New York City in November-December 1951. It still retains the label from this sale, affixed to the rear with tape, indicating it was lot #813. Save for an old horizontal split in the back wall, it is in excellent condition.
