Description

George Washington: Three Strands of His Hair. 11" x 14" display board that contains three encapsulated strands of George Washington's hair on red flannel, together with a color copy of a signed Letter of Authenticity by noted autograph expert and dealer Charles Hamilton. The lock from which this sample was excised was first owned by Eleanor Parke Custis, Martha Washington's granddaughter from her first marriage, and later passed to Washington's close friend, Colonel Levin Powell. The strands are approximately 1 1/2" in length.
