From A Second Journey Through Persia, Armenia, and Asia Minor, to Constantinople, Between the Years 1810 and 1816. With a Journal of the Voyage by the Brazils and Bombay to the Person Gulf. Together With an Account of the Proceedings of His Majesty's Embassy Under His Excellency Sir Gore Ouseley by James Morier, London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, 1818.

 

These extremely detailed wood engravings measure 9 x 12 inches. Included are four hand-colored engravings of Kurdish chiefs, Persian musicians, Persian breakfast, and Persian horsemen; two maps - the route from Teheran to Asterabad and a large folding map of the routes through Aderbigian (the northern most province of Persia) including part of Armenia; eight uncolored plates featuring various scenes of the region; and four large folding plates. The lot also includes the title page, table of contents and list of illustrations from the original volume. There is light to moderate foxing on several examples and the paper displays some toning, especially at the edges, otherwise all are in very good condition.
