First edition. Quarto in sixes. [20], 1-285, 296-326 pages and four plates. Pagination is discontinuous, as noted in OCLC, but text is complete.

Contemporary full leather with renewed spine and extremities. General surface wear. Title page is a high quality facsimile on rag paper. Armorial bookplate on front pastedown. Contemporary owner inscription on front free endpaper. Some minor dampstaining along top edge. Woodcut initials and headpieces. Numerous woodcut illustrations of insects throughout. Four pages of plates with woodcuts of insects follow text. A very good copy.

The first book devoted to insects compiled by an Englishman and the first book on insects published in England.
