An Extra-Illustrated Copy with Nine Original Watercolors in a Beautiful Chivers Binding

Lamb. London: Macmillan and Co., 1882. First edition.
Octavo. [vi], 186, [1, colophon], [1, blank] pages. This volume
extra-illustrated with the addition of nine fine full-page
watercolor and wash paintings of subjects from Lamb's life, as well
as more than thirty portraits and views. Bound in full moss
green morocco by Cedric Chivers. Spine with five raised bands and
gilt devices in compartments. Covers with three gilt rules.
Inset on the front cover is a very fine miniature watercolor
portrait of Lamb on vellum, surrounded by a gilt frame device.
Spine mellowed to brown, some light rubbing. A fine copy,
beautifully expanded with watercolors and magnificently bound.
