Description

Al Blaustein's Impressive Collection of Twelve Signed Intaglio Prints

Al Blaustein. The Cages. A suite of twelve intaglio prints based on drawings from life. New York: Feigele Press, 1968.

First edition, one of 50 copies, out of a total edition of 60.

Folio (approximately 22.5 x 30.25 inches). [iv] pages. With twelve prints each signed and numbered ("14/50") by Blaustein. Thick stock plain paper protectors at front and bottom, tissue guards.

Housed in publisher's large red cloth clamshell case, stamped in gilt on the front cover, ribbon inserted to lift out prints. Some dampstaining to clamshell case, which has stained thick stock paper protectors, last leaf of text, and some prints (prints have some small stains at the edges). Overall, very good.

Alfred H. Blaustein (b. 1924) built his career in New York to become a printmaker, landscape, studio, and figure painter.
