Bound in modern brown calf backstrip over patterned paper over thin boards. Spine sunned, some wear to binding, some foxing in text, a few leaves roughly opened. Still, a fine copy.

More Information:

In 1735, Maupertuis and others journeyed to Lapland in order to prove that Newton's theory that the Earth flattened at the poles was correct. When they accomplished this feat successfully, they published the results of that trip and their observations in this title.
