More Information:
"The first Bible printed in New Jersey, the second quarto edition of the King James Bible printed in America, and the most ambitious project of Isaac Collins' printing career" (Felcone). "The first edition of the Bible printed in New Jersey, U.S.A...particularly known for its accurate text, and served as a standard of correctness for later printers" (Herbert). According to Hills, customers could choose in advance if their copies were bound with the Apocrypha (which this copy has) and Ostervald's Practical Observations (which this copy lacks, which is quite common for this title). This Bible is commonly regarded as the first that was typographically correct (with only two minor errors found after publication). Felcone 12. Evans 23184. Hills 31. Herbert 1354.
