Description
Albert Schweitzer Photo Postcard Inscribed in German. 5.75" x 3.75". The translated inscription reads: "At the building site of the Leprosy House. [To] Adolf Keller during his stay at Lambarene. Cordially, Albert Schweitzer. 10.2.1957". The photograph shows construction of the foundation of Schweitzer's hospital in Lambarene, in French Equatorial Africa. With a few trivial creases around the edges and an equally trivial blue pencil mark, near but not affecting Schweitzer's signature. Schweitzer was a multi-talented man: a theologian, philosopher, physician, and music scholar. He received the Nobel Prize for peace in 1952.Auction Info
