Description
[Nineteenth Century] Group of Seven Cartes de Visite and Cabinet Cards, including, CDVs of: Second Assistant Secretary of State Augustus Alvey Adee; General Andrews; natural history professor Jean Louis Rodolphe Agassiz of Harvard University; actor Edwin Forrest; and, operatic singer and actress Emilie Melville. Most have photo archive stamps, pencil notations, labels on the verso, and surface abrasions, else near very good.More Information:
The larger of the cabinet cards, 4" x 8", by Mora of New York, pictures a man in court dress (probably theatrical). The other cabinet card, 4.25" x 6.5", by Pach Brothers, Broadway, New York, pictures a Black watchman, with his keys tethered to his waist. Those of Agassiz and Melville are mounted on cards.
