Description
Franz Liszt Autograph Letter Signed "F. Liszt", one page, 4.5" x 7", Weimar, Germany, May 15, 1878. In German, untranslated. With toning, otherwise very good.Liszt had first taken up residence in Weimar in 1842 at the invitation of Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia. He had retired from touring as a pianist and was appointed Kapellmeister Extraordinaire. He remained in Weimar until 1861, but would periodically return thereafter. Although untranslated this letter appears to regard touring and mentions Paris.
