George IV, King of Great Britain, Document Signed. "George R." One page front and verso, partially printed on vellum, 13.75" x 9.5", Carleton House, London, November 15, 1824. The document is a commission naming Herbert Laye, Gentleman, as an ensign in the Ninety-First [Argyle Highlanders] Regiment of Foot under the command of General Duncan Campbell. The document is countersigned by Sir Robert Peel. The document has folds, soiling, and a stamp from a previous collection on the verso. The document retains the original paper and red wax embossed seal.
