Description

Andrew Jackson Land Grant Signed "Andrew Jackson" as president. One page, partially printed on vellum, 15.5" x 9.5", Washington, D. C., November 16, 1830, granting "Chapel Hedge of Montgomery county...the East half of the South East quarter of section Four...in the district of lands subject to sale at Cahaba Alabama, containing Sixty nine Acres." Countersigned by Elijah Hayward as commissioner of the General Land Office. Scattered light staining; small hole obscuring a bit of text. Overall buckling. With an engraved portrait of Jackson "from a Daguerreotype taken from life" with facsimile signature.
