Description
Stevens New Model No. 40 Pocket Rifle With Wire Stock and Holster. Serial no. 31466, .22 caliber, 8-inch part round, part octagonal barrel. Blued finish. Walnut Grips. Sold with a black leather, unmarked holster and later wire stock.Condition: Fair. Finish worn to a smooth gray/mottled patina with some light surface pitting. The barrel has been shortened and re-crowned. The pistol has been shellacked at one point and much of the thick brown coating remains on the grips and frame. Front of frame has a small screw added. Action strong. Bore worn but bright. After-market holster and wire frame in very good condition.
