Description

Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Colt Factory Letter. Serial no. 778 frame, triggerguard, butt and cylinder], loading gate no. 258, rare .44 rimfire caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with standard blade front sight and frame notch rear sight. Top of barrel marked: COLT'S PT FA MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. Left side of frame with two-line, two-date patent. Blued finish. Case-hardened frame. One piece oil-finished walnut grips. Manufactured in 1874. Sold along with Colt factory letter confirming rimfire caliber and serial, barrel length not listed, and shipped to Hartley Graham & Schuyler, New York.
Condition: Very good as refinished. Retaining generous amount of an old re-blue with handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Some edge wear and tracking line to cylinder. Grips showing scuffs and dings. Some noticeable wood loss to the corners and deep gouge to top of right grip panel. Action crisp. Bright bore.
