George Orwell: Animal Farm A Fairy Story First UK Edition. (London: Secker & Warburg, 1945), first edition, 92 pages, green cloth with white lettering on the spine, 12mo (5" x 7.5"), dust jacket (in protective Mylar). This is the true first edition of Orwell's classic satire, released nine days before the American first edition. It was scheduled for publication in "May 1945," according to the copyright page, but was not actually published until August because of a paper shortage during World War II. This copy is very good, showing some wear to the edges and corners, and along the folds of the dust jacket.
