Description
Franklin D. Roosevelt Leather Matchbook Cover During President Roosevelt's time in office he had five different valets, each of whom were charged with the arduous task of physically assisting the robust President in day to day activities. Arthur Prettyman served in this capacity during World War II. This approximately 2" square leather matchbook cover is embossed with the President's initials. Its design allows the owner to remove a pin to replace the matches when needed. A long historical signed letter from Prettyman's widow recounts his time with the President, as well as the historical significance of FDR's personal item.Auction Info
