Declaration Signer Elbridge Gerry Autograph Letter Signed in the third person twice as, "Mr. Gerry." Two pages with integral address leaf, 7.25" x 9.25", Cambridge, October 25, 1798. This two-page document was written to Governor Increase Sumner of Massachusetts. The document contains a listing of books Gerry had brought back from his trip to Paris. Gerry was in France serving on the delegation over the XYZ affair, a large diplomatic scandal. The document is in fine condition; the usual folds are present; wax seal still intact; circular tear on address leaf from the wax seal being opened. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
