Harry S. Truman Typed Letter Signed as President "Harry Truman". One page, 7" x 9", on White House letterhead, Washington, D.C., July 14, 1949, to Mr. Edward D. McKim, Omaha, Nebraska. It reads in full: "Dear Eddie: I appreciated very much your note of the eleventh, in regard to Leo Coleman. I hope you have received your share of the Blatz contribution. I didn't know that you cared much for beer. Sincerely yours". Truman's friendship with McKim went back to the First World War when they served in the artillery together. Edward McKim was one of the president's top aides when he received this letter. One central fold with very light toning on the edges, else very fine condition.
