Description
1925-Dated Abraham Lincoln Cast "Emancipator" Hand-Painted Bookends by the Pompeian Bronze Company. These matching heavy (three pounds each) copper-coated zinc bookends are 3.75" x 5.5" x 2" in size, and picture an angel appearing to Lincoln as he sits at his desk writing. The verso is titled "THE EMANCIPATOR" and signed by the manufacturer. Excellent Art Deco style with brightly colored backgrounds and in generally excellent condition. Dents on the back near the copyright dates are identical which may indicate a casting flaw.Auction Info
