Description

Fred Mueller, Denver, Colorado Parade Saddle. 1930s floral carved, intricately engraved sterling silver with stunning custom made raised steer head on the corner plates. The set features matching headstall and breast collar. Mueller, world famous for their premium stock saddles is known to have produced only a handful of parade saddles with this being one of the most elaborate examples to come to auction to date. Mueller's first shop opened in 1891 in Denver, Colorado, one block from the West's first Wells Fargo office. Mueller believed a cowboy should be able to do all his shopping at one location and as a result operated a thriving mail order business in Texas and throughout the West. He sold his business to his employees in 1917 and continued shop operation until 1957. Courtesy of Bruce Bartlett, San Antonio. Consigned Lot
