Description
Very Nice 18th Century Silver Mounted Balkan or Turkish Flintlock Holster Pistol. 13½" overall with 8¼" .60 caliber octagon to round barrel that flares at the muzzle with cannon turnings. The barrel is embellished with engraving including a sunken cartouche proof/ maker's mark and a crescent. All iron furniture nicely engraved, with fine quality elaborate silver overlay on the butt cap. Very fine quality lock that is fully engraved. The stock is completely covered with vinelike silver wire inlay that is highlighted with small silver and copper leaves. Generally fine condition with nice dark patina. There is one chip in the wood at the front of the lock. Very fine example of this form.Auction Info
