H. G. Wells. The Food of the Gods and How it Came to Earth. London: Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1904.First edition meeting all points of Currey priority A. Octavo. 317 pages. 16 page publisher's catalog inserted in back.
Publishers green cloth with titles in gilt on the spine and front board. Floral decoration in blind on the front board. Top edge gilt. Shelf wear at the extremities. Boards slightly soiled. Spine panel slightly darkened. Contents slightly toned as usual, especially on the preliminary pages with light foxing to the fore-edge and publisher's catalog. Former owner's bookplate on the front pastedown has ghosted on to the front free endpaper. Rear hinge starting to crack. Very good. From the Robert and Diane Yaspan Collection.
