More Information: Reinzer (1661-1708) Jesuit writer and teacher born at Graz, professor of grammar, humanities, and rhetoric in Vienna; he taught philosophy in Linz, and moral theology in Passau, Gratz, and Laybach. This is his most famous work which went through several Latin and German editions. The fine illustrations are filled with meteorological images comets, meteors, lightning, winds, waters, treasures and secrets of the earth. These scientific and meteorological dissertations are largely based on Athanasius Kircher's works with an overlay of philosophical, political, and spiritual teachings.
