Lois & Buzz Aldrin's Wedding: A Present of a Beautiful Holy Bible Inscribed from Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, [with] Wedding Photo Snapshot, both Originally from Buzz Aldrin's Personal Collection, with Certificate of Authenticity. A large (9.5" x 11.5" x 2.25") Devotional Alphabetical Indexed Family Bible (Wichita: De Voire & Sons, Inc., 1979) with a presentation page filled out by Senator Hatch: "Presented to Lois & Buzz With Best Wishes By Elaine & Orrin Hatch this 14th day of Feb 1988 City Wash State D.C." Included with the lot is a color snapshot of couple on the day of their wedding. Excellent.Orrin Hatch (1934-2022) had a long and influential career in the United States Senate, serving as a Republican senator from Utah for over 40 years from 1977 to 2019. He was one of the longest-serving senators in U.S. history. Hatch served as chairman of several powerful Senate committees including the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee. Hatch was a conservative force on issues like taxes and deregulation but also worked across the aisle at times, co-sponsoring legislation like the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Though a controversial figure at times, Hatch left a lasting impact through his longevity and legislative achievements over his seven Senate terms.
