Description

Mercury-Atlas 7 (Aurora 7): Thirteen Vintage Publicity Photos of Scott Carpenter, all from the Personal Archives of NASA Legend Bill Taub. As follows.
(1) Four B&W silver spacesuit photos ranging in size from 4.25" x 5.75" to 4" x 5.25". Light corner bumps, overall very fine.
(2) Two 3.5" x 5" color silver spacesuit photos on Kodak fiber-based paper bearing the "A Kodak Paper" watermark on the verso. Excellent.
(3) Four B&W prints generally 8" x 10" in size of various promotional poses and one image of the Carpenter family. Includes images 62-MA7-114A and 61-MA6-17 with printed captions on verso. As well as numbered images S-62-1560 and G-60-2737. Very fine.

NOTE: The photos from this archive were the inspiration for the recent book by J. L. Pickering and John Bisney, Photographing America's First Astronauts, Project Mercury Through the Lens of Bill Taub. A beautiful book from the Purdue University Press. Highly recommended. From the Collection of J. L. Pickering
