London: Printed for D. Wilson and T. Durham, 1753. First English edition, and only separate edition. 12mo. 6 11/16 x 4 1/8 inches (169 x 105 mm). [2], 252 pages. Contemporary full speckled calf, spine compartments and boards ruled with gilt double fillet, boards with decorative edge roll in blind. Heavy scuffing, upper board slightly bowed, joints with early repair, numerous abrasions to leather and rubbing of gilt tooling, some loss of leather to head and tail. Text block edges speckled red, top edge soiled, hinges cracked, off-setting from turn-ins, bookseller notations to front free endleaf recto; light foxing throughout, mainly to margins. Good.[Together With:] Voltaire. Micromegas: A Comic Romance. London: Printed for D. Wilson and T. Durham, 1753. First English edition, and only separate edition. 12mo. 6 3/4 x 4 1/8 inches (170 x 105 mm). [2], 252 pages. Roughly contemporary full speckled calf ruled with gilt single fillet, rebacked with original spine label laid down. Boards detached, red-rot, scuffed, corners bumped and rubbed, numerous abrasions to leather with some losses to head and tail; spine label torn, affecting gilt titling. Text block edges toned, faintly speckled red, top edge spoiled, off-setting from turn-ins, bookseller notations to front free endleaf recto and rear pastedown, small loss to fore-edge of page 1/2, numerous passages marked in pencil, intermittent staining. Fair.
