Franklin D. Roosevelt: Autograph Note Signed "F.D.R.".-June 25, 1926. New York City. One page. 8.5" x 11. At bottom of letter from Norman J. Gould of Gould's Pumps, Seneca Falls, New York; stamped and docketed to the firm of Roosevelt & O'Connor.

FDR writes "Do you know anything of this? I never heard of it - If you do, write Gould direct..." The nature of FDR's legal work is apparent here. Gould's letter to Roosevelt involves bids on oil pumping equipment for the Empire Petroleum Company in Utah.

A June 25, 1926 autographed note of some nineteen words in FDR's own his hand at the bottom of a letter to FDR at his law firm; stamped and docketed to the firm of Roosevelt & O'Connor. The letter is to FDR is from the president of Gould's Pumps, Norman J. Gould of Seneca Falls, NY, and inquires of FDR whether he had information about Empire Petroleum Company work in Utah because the president of Gould's Pumps had the hope of bidding equipment for them. FDR writes in his own hand at the bottom of the letter: "Dear Basil - Do you know anything of this? I never heard of it – If you do, write Gould direct – / FDR." The letter is 8 ½ x 11." Originally folded vertically in thirds and then horizontally in half. The letter has some age toning and the slightest bit of crinkling on the right side. Very good condition overall with no tears or spots. A nice example of FDR's legal work, written by FDR in his own hand shortly before he reentered political life as Governor of New York.
