Description

Charles Daly Imported J. P. Sauer & Son Double-Barrel Shotgun. 12 gauge. Serial number 99293. 26" Fluid Steel Krupp barrels with slightly tapered concave matte rib with an ivory front and mid bead. Total weight about six pounds, 42" in total length, 14¼" LOP to the 1" padded leather pad, 1¾" DAC, and 2¾" DAH. Double triggers. Case-colored action with beautiful but sparse engraving. Beautiful checkered European walnut butt and fore arm. Small silver escutcheon inset into the lower edge of the butt engraved with prior owner's initials "M.A.F.". This example is stamped "Made in Prussia" and is emblematic of fine European gun makers of the pre-WWI period. The finish on the barrels has developed a beautiful patina and the action still retains the majority of the original case coloring. This is a handsome shotgun in fine condition.
