Description
Beautiful German Krupp Steel Under-Lever Hammer Drilling. 16 gauge and 9mm. Serial number 8668. Overall weight 6¾ pounds. 27" blued Krupp Steel barrels with slightly tapered matte rib. Marked with the retailer "L. Wesp. Darmstadt/ Gr. Hoflieferant" on the barrel. The barrels and action are well-proofed with various German markings including Imperial eagles, crown over "U", crown over "G", and nitro proofs. The action is modestly engraved with single-rule borders and accented with a single floral decoration on either side. This exceptional drilling features elegant double hammers, double triggers and the European walnut stock is finely checkered with a carved horn cap on the pistol grip and cartridge trap in butt stock behind rear sling mount. The finish remains strong on the barrels and the action displays a few scattered dark spots. The barrel rib has a few trivial dings from use and there is a very small piece absent on the horn butt plate. There is also a crack on the inside of the fore end which isn't visible from the outside. This is a high-quality drilling in excellent condition. Careful examination leads us to beleive the barrels have been professionally and artfully refinished.Auction Info
