Description
W. W. Greener FH58 Grade Double-Barrel Shotgun. 20 gauge. Serial number 66733. 28" barrels with slightly tapered concave matte rib and ivory front and mid beads. The rib is marked "W.W. GREENER MAKER: 29 PALL MALL LONDON S.W. WORKS ST. MARY'S SQUARE BIRMINGHAM". About six pounds in weight, 45" in overall length, LOP 15¼", DAC 1¾", DAH 2¾". Case-colored action lavishly engraved with ornate floral patterns. The barrels and action are well-stamped with nitro proofs and other English proofs of the period. This superb shotgun is stocked in beautifully figured and checkered English walnut, and the fore end is tipped in horn. There is a small gold escutcheon with a prior owner's initials "HT" inlayed into the lower edge of the stock. The shotgun has the Greener thumb safety on the left side of the stock and also has double triggers. This lightweight shotgun is beautiful in all respects and shows only minimal and respectful signs of use.Auction Info
