APOLLO-SOYUZ TEST PROJECT
Apollo-Soyuz Crew-Signed Flown Beta Cloth Mission Insignia Patch. A 5.5" square swatch of Beta cloth with a 3.5" diameter color mission insignia in the center. Around the border are the bold signatures of all five participants in this milestone mission: U.S. Commander "Tom Stafford"; U.S. Command Module Pilot "Vance Brand"; Docking Module Pilot "Deke Slayton"; Soviet Commander "Alexey Leonov"; and Soviet Flight Engineer "Valeri Kubasov". ASTP was the last of America's Apollo flights and the first joint flight between the American and Soviet space programs. This patch was given to the consignor by Slayton who was a long-time friend.
