James A. Van Allen Signed Photo. A 5" x 7" B&W glossy portrait photo signed in black ink. This American space scientist, known for his work in magnetospheric physics, led the scientific community in including research instruments on space satellites including Explorer I, the first launched by the U.S. The Van Allen radiation belts are named for him and he was included in TIME magazine's "Man of the Year" issue in 1960.
