Description

ISRAELITE. Iron Age II B-C, circa 925-586 BCE. Clay bulla seal impression with Hebrew name. Approximately .65 inches (17mm) across, this reddish-gray claw impression bears the Biblical name Ahab in paleo-Hebrew characters. Cf. Archaeological Center 44 (13 April 2009), lot 161 (bulla with "Ahab, son of Samak"); cf. Kaufman Collection 407.
